One thing my family enjoys when eating at a Chinese restaurant is getting the fortune cookie at the end of the meal. We have a good time laughing about each other’s fortune.
Recently, my daughter and I ate Chinese food with her dad. When we got our fortunes, mine said, “Your love life will always sustain you”. Being a single mom and a Christian, a “love life” is not part of my lifestyle, but as I was driving home that evening I realized that I actually have a “love life”. Not this world’s idea of a “love life”, but a love life with Jesus. I also realized that my fortune was true, which rarely happens with fortune cookies. My love life with Jesus will sustain me through all the trials and circumstances of life.
The one thing we can count on in this life is God’s unfailing love for us. When we return that love, He will sustain us through thick and thin, no matter what life brings. Even better is the promise of Romans 8:28. He will work all things for good when we love Him and are called according to His purpose for us.
